USA Registered (CONUS) Legal Entities
Requesting a CAGE Code
Register the Legal Entity with Dun Á Bradstreet (DNB). Your entity must be registered with DNB where DNB will verify your company information and issue a DNB number for your entity. To obtain a free DNB number for the purposes of Government Business you can visit DNB by clicking here.
If you need to obtain a CAGE Code to receive Contract Payments or Grants then you must register at the System for Award Management (SAM). This system will require your entity and location information to precisely match the Dun Á Bradstreet record for the entity. During registration you will require detailed information about your entity, its owners, directors and its financial information. After registration a notarized letter must be submitted appointing the authorized Entity Administrator.
If you need to obtain a CAGE Code for one of the following purposes:
Facility Security Clearance,
Assignment of a Department of Defense Activity Address Code (DODAAC),
To fulfill the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 4.18 requirement for Ownership of Offeror to identify their Immediate Owner and/or Highest Level Owner.
OCONUS (Outside of the Continental USA) Registered Legal Entities
Requesting a NCAGE Code
If the Entity will be Receiving Contract Payments or Grants only from the US Federal Government you may be able to register at the System for Award Management (SAM). This system will require your entity and location information to precisely match the Dun Á Bradstreet record for the entity. During registration you will require detailed information about your entity, its owners, directors and its financial information. After registration a notarized letter must be submitted appointing the authorized Entity Administrator.
When SAM Registration is not avilable, a Government or Commercial Entity located outside of the USA must obtain a NATO CAGE Code (NCAGE) through the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA). NSPA or the NATO Codification Bureau (NCB) where the NON-US entity is located will assign the NCAGE Code. Army Post Office (APO) and Fleet Post Office (FPO) addresses should obtain a US CAGE Code at the Commercial and Government Entity Program.
